Severe Bradycardia and Hypotension during TUR of Bladder Tumor

Abstract

We experienced a case of sever bradycardia and hypotension during TUR(transurethral resetion) of bladder tumor. This 59 year old male patient visited our hospital due to gross hematuria and was diagnosed as bladder cancer. Anesthetic method was
continuous epidural anesthesia with lidocaine and bupivacaine. About 2hr. 45min. after beginning of TUR, severe hypotension and bradycardia occurred, when the rectal temperature was 32.8℃and used volume of irrigating solution by that time was
70,000ml.
